Providence Festival of Trees, Portland’s premier holiday event, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2012. More than 14,000 visitors admired elaborate holiday decorations and exquisitely adorned Christmas trees which were created by local designers, businesses and volunteers. Children and families enjoyed entertainment from local dance and music groups, as well as festive holiday crafts and cookie decorating, pictures with Santa and stories from Mrs. Claus. On display were intricately designed gingerbread houses, and, model trains moving through a miniature winter wonderland. Children who visited the Teddy Bear Hospital received a commemorative 30th anniversary festival of trees teddy as a memento of this very special holiday event. More »
