Volunteers touch the community by helping their neighbors, friends, and each other. We appreciate the energy and commitment they have made to our hospital.
Our volunteers serve 35 departments, including areas such as our blood pressure clinic, gift shop, hospitality cart, family birth center, emergency room, surgery desk, foundation, pet visitation, Sunshine Club and more.
Volunteers typically work a four-hour shift, one day per week. We ask new adult volunteers to make a six month commitment and teen volunteers to make a three month commitment. Those interested in applying should download, complete and return the application packets and background disclosure (for those over 18). Application are also available in our volunteer office.

Gift Shop hours: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Closed Sundays and holidays.
Hospice offers volunteers to patients and families, providing one-on-one support, respite for the caregiver, giving comfort and companionship to the hospice patients. There are also volunteer opportunities with the children’s grief group, bereavement support groups, in the hospice office and with special events. After receiving your application, you will be contacted to set up an appointment to discuss our program and see if there is a match for placement.
Volunteers are essential to the special care Providence Hospice provides. Whether a volunteer is helping families, visiting patients, consoling the bereaved or helping at the office, each contributes greatly to the quality of life for the people we serve.
Spring schedule - all dates are in May. All course topics are presented by hospice personnel providing years of personal and professional experience.
