Vascular diseases are known as “silent killers” because they often strike without warning. They are life-threatening diseases of the veins and arteries. Since vascular diseases often are not accompanied by symptoms, it is important to be aware of the risk factors so that you can seek help to catch these diseases before it's too late. If you have any of these risks, discuss your vascular health with your primary care physician or call us to inquire about our vascular screenings (fees apply):
Vascular disease screenings
If you're at risk for vascular disease, consider scheduling an appointment for Providence Heart and Vascular Institute's painless, noninvasive screenings (fees apply, i.e., $100 to be screened for three of the most common, life-threatening vascular diseases: abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease and peripheral artery disease. Single disease screenings are also available for $40 each).
Screenings are offered by appointment daily at these Portland-area hospitals: Providence Portland Medical Center, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Providence Milwaukie Hospital and Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center. For details and to register, call us at 503-216-2088.
In southern Oregon, screenings are offered by appointment at Providence Medford Medical Center by calling 541-732-5543.
Providence Heart and Vascular Institute comprises more than 80 highly-skilled physicians and surgeons. Each year at the Institute, more than 13,000 patients benefit from the latest advances in diagnosis, treatment and cardiac surgery.
