WHAT: Children who started their life in Providence St. Vincent Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit will gather with their families for a reunion celebration.
WHEN: 1-4 p.m., Sunday, June 2
Providence St. Vincent Medical Center
9205 S.W. Barnes Road, Portland
DETAILS: Hundreds of families will gather at Providence St. Vincent to reunite with others whose children began their lives in the neonatal intensive care, or NICU. The event gives families a chance to meet, mingle and share their common experience. This year’s Candyland themed celebration will include games, face painting, refreshments, clowns and photos.
Providence St. Vincent’s NICU is the largest in Oregon and admits more than 850 fragile newborns each year. Parents of NICU babies provide a unique support system to each other – connecting through group and one-on-one meetings throughout the year. This annual reunion offers families with children up to 8 years of age a chance to celebrate the reflect on the journey they’ve made since those early days in the NICU.
