Providence Portland Medical Center will be upgrading the two surface parking lots south of the main entrance drop off and emergency department. This is a requirement by the City of Portland.
The work involves making the parking lots more accessible to people with disabilities. In addition, workers will make landscape and storm retention upgrades. The project is scheduled to start May 29, and be completed by July 31.
A similar project will take place in the east parking lot at the Providence Professional Plaza. Work there will start May 29 and is expected to be completed by July 5.
Work on both projects will run weekdays, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work will generate some noise and construction dust.
Providence has adequate parking in its garages to compensate for the temporary loss of surface parking in these two lots.
