Volunteering at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center
Also known as:
Willamette Falls auxiliary volunteers, Willamette Falls student volunteers, Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center volunteers
Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center has a dedicated group of volunteers who serve more than 40 different departments in our hospital and surrounding campus. Our volunteers create a welcoming environment caring for our patients and guests.
Adult volunteers care for our patients and support operations in many ways such as providing patient information in the main lobby, surgery and emergency waiting areas, courier and transport service, gift shop assistance, clerical support for special projects, hospital tours, blood drive support and fund-raising.
Student volunteers, age 16 and older, give at least two hours a week, while gaining valuable hospital experience. We make every effort to give them access to their areas of interest in more than a dozen departments throughout the hospital. Students help with patient support in most patient care nursing units, from short stay surgery to the emergency room.
All of our volunteers go through the following application process:
- Download and complete the appropriate application packet below. (Forms are also available at the volunteer services office.)
- Application packet
- Return completed application packet (for students this includes two reference forms) to the volunteer office.
- Interview and placement provided by volunteer services staff
- Attend in-service training and orientation sessions provided by the hospital and volunteer services
