Speech-language pathologists work with patients who may be having difficulty eating food or drinking liquids to help maintain a safe swallow, along with adequate nutrition and hydration. The therapists provide exercises for strengthening and compensatory strategies as needed to encourage safe oral intake.
After illness, injury or disability, people in our community turn to Providence Rehabilitation Services
for help in regaining strength and independence. Last year, Providence Rehabilitation served more than 86,000 adults and children.
