Respiratory motion management
This is a technique where doctors can accurately deliver radiation therapy to a target that is moving as a patient breathes. This is typically used to treat lesions in the lung in patients who are at risk for side effects from radiation delivered to the surrounding healthy lung. With this technology, patients can breathe normally during treatment and any movement of the target with respiration is taken into account based on the patient’s unique pattern of breathing.
