What makes us special?
Our clinic exists because of the generosity and vision of the community. Our supporters recognized the need for a truly unique dental clinic where all families of kids with special needs can have a dental home at Providence Specialty Pediatric Dental Clinic.
Monisha Gagneja, B.D.S., Jennifer Rubel, D.M.D. and Peter Lax, D.M.D., offer complete dental care to very special patients at Providence Specialty Pediatric Dental Clinic. Their expertise in treating special-needs patients makes it possible for children with developmental, medical and behavioral disabilities to receive preventive and restorative dental care in a child-friendly environment. Together, our dentists and staff create a place where children and their parents feel safe and supported. Who are our patients?
Our goal is to be the dental home for families of children with special health care needs. We serve children with special health care needs and their siblings from birth to 25 years of age. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, "In order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday."
We provide dental care for children with a range of developmental, medical and behavioral needs, including anxiety, sensory issues, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and developmental and speech/language delays. We also welcome children with complex medical issues.
We also provide care for the child who suffers from appointment anxiety, whose fear prevents them from receiving care from a dentist. We receive a lot of questions about kids with anxiety and want families to know we are an option for their child. Our goal is to provide a positive dental experience for any child who may not tolerate a traditional clinic environment.
What we do:
Our clinic provides comprehensive oral health care based on the unique needs of each child. We offer preventive dental services and restorative dental procedures. Our dentists use the following to ensure a successful dental experience for each child; behavioral guidance, nitrous oxide, pediatric dental sedation and hospital-based dentistry under general anesthesia.
