Providence is committed to improving the health of our community through research in our centers of excellence.  In each center, scientists and physicians work together to ensure that patients benefit from the latest advancements in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.   

The Robert W. Franz Cancer Research Center is a world-class research facility located in the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute of the Providence Cancer Center.  The Franz Cancer Center, which focuses on the immune system, translates the most promising results from our own laboratories into novel treatments for patients in Oregon throughout the Pacific Northwest.  

Investigators in the Providence Heart and Vascular Institute are making better treatments, improving recovery, and achieving excellent and long-lasting results for people with heart disease.  

Providence Women and Children’s Health Research Center supports and conducts research designed to improve the health of women, newborns and children.  

The Center for Outcomes Research and Education (CORE) seeks to increase knowledge of effective health care treatments and services by applying research and systematic evaluation.  CORE is recognized as a national leader in outcomes research.
