The Robert W. Franz Cancer Research Center in the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute is a world-class research facility located within Providence Cancer Center in Portland, Ore. Founded in 1993 by Walter Urba, M.D., Ph.D., director of cancer research, and a team of internationally-recognized scientists, our main area of investigation is cancer immunotherapy, a specialized field of study focused on triggering the immune system to fight cancer.

Investigators in the Providence Heart and Vascular Institute are making better treatments, improving recovery, and achieving excellent and long-lasting results for people with heart disease.  

Providence Women and Children’s Health Research Center supports and conducts research designed to improve the health of women, newborns and children.  

The Center for Outcomes Research and Education (CORE) seeks to increase knowledge of effective health care treatments and services by applying research and systematic evaluation.  CORE is recognized as a national leader in outcomes research.
