A Message From Our Chief Medical Officer
I am continually impressed with the character and caliber of the physicians working within the Providence Hospitalist Programs. They include board-certified internists, family medicine physicians, pediatricians and medical/pediatric-trained hospitalists. I see their commitment to our shared priorities of optimal patient care, teamwork and collaboration, and lifelong learning on a daily basis.
Our hospitalists participate in hospital committees and boards, and contribute to the safety, quality and process-improvement initiatives that ensure effective care for our patients.
As part of an integrated delivery system, Providence hospitalists partner with their outpatient colleagues at Providence Medical Group, and with other primary care providers in the community. Within our hospitals, they place a high emphasis on collaboration with specialists and other care providers. And as a group, our hospitalists support one another and operate as a team.
These physicians are committed both to furthering their own medical knowledge and to aiding their colleagues in their ongoing education. They take part in continuing medical education, professional conferences, medical student and resident training, and quarterly hospitalist gatherings for case-based learning.
It’s a stimulating environment that makes work enjoyable and provides our patients with informed and effective physicians. I invite you to explore our programs and learn more.
Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or inquiries about our hospitalist programs.
Doug Koekkoek, M.D.
