Mother Gamelin Fund – Opening Your Heart to Those in Need
This fund was established in memory of Emilie Gamelin to support the Providence Mission of serving the poor and vulnerable to provide- for a wide variety of basic needs, such as food, clothing, transportation, shelter and prescription medications. During 2012, funds were distributed to assist patients cared for in our emergency department with prescriptions and other items not covered by the hospital’s charity care policy.
B.J. Stormberg Fund - Helping Employees
The B.J. Stormberg Employee Emergency Financial Assistance Fund is named for a former Providence Medford administrator who personally helped employees when he learned of emergent needs. This fund is for PMMC/PMG employees who face an urgent need. It is supported entirely by the Employee Giving Campaign - employees helping employees - and provides last-resort help in a crisis, emergency or unexpected hardship. The fund has helped employees who were faced with a spouse's sudden job loss, a car accident, a serious illness or a house fire.
Area of Greatest Need Fund –Ensuring State-of-the-Art Technology in Southern Oregon
Throughout the year the hospital has a variety of capital, technology and charitable needs that are not included in the annual budget. The Providence Community Health Foundation board of trustees, funded special projects such as the simulation lab, telemetry monitors and ENT surgical equipment. Most recently, unrestricted funds were allocated to the purchase of the O-Arm surgical equipment, da Vinci robot and new flat screen TVs for all patient rooms and waiting areas.
