Is this confidential?

Many of our staff members are mental health professionals who are bond by laws of confidentiality. Everything you do and say during your counseling sessions are kept confidential unless child abuse is suspected or if a person threatens to do harm to themselves or others. Otherwise, information will only be released with your signed permission.

What is the process of scheduling an appointment?

Call our office at 503-215-3561 or toll free 1-800-255-5255 to schedule an appointment. Our schedulers are here to help you Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Can I speak with someone now?

Yes. Call our office at 503-215-3561 or toll free 1-800-255-5255 and our schedulers will connect you to a crisis counselor. If you need assistance outside of our normal business hours, call our office and our answering service will connect you to an after-hours triage counselor.

Will someone be calling me before my appointment?

No. We will only call you if we have to reschedule or cancel appointments.

Does my wife/husband/daughter/son/stepson, etc. qualify?

Spouses, domestic partners, and dependent children qualify.

How many counseling sessions am I eligible for?

Call our office; we can give you that information over the phone. Our contracts vary from company to company.

Do I have a co-pay?

No. There is no co-pay.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No. However, under certain circumstances, you will be requested to bring pertinent paperwork. This would be communicated to you when you make your appointment.

May I choose the counselor I want, or do you have a panel of counselors?

If you are calling from the Portland area, you may choose counselors on our staff. If you are calling outside the area, we will refer you to contracted counselors in your area.

What if I don’t like my counselor or I don’t feel like my counselor is helping me resolve my issues?

Call our office and our schedulers will assign another counselor to you, no questions asked. We want you to feel comfortable with the provider with whom you meet.

What are your locations?

Do you have Saturday/weekend appointments?

No. All appointments are Monday through Friday.

If I want my child to be seen by a counselor, who needs to attend the first session?

Counselors find it helpful that a parent attend the first session with their child.

Will the career counselors help me find a job?

Career counselors will not help you with actual job placement. They will assist you in career development issues, job search strategies, resume writing, and interview techniques.

What happens if I need more sessions?

Counselors will refer you to a mental health professional that may be covered by your health insurance, to local support groups, or to other community services depending on your needs.
