A blessing, a recognition
In the tranquil setting of the new Noel Lesley Infusion Room, 115 Providence donors and Lesley family members gathered April 9 for a special evening. The event was the blessing of this Providence Cancer Center facility and a time to recognize the donors who made the room possible.
The evening included heartfelt comments on behalf of the family from Carolyn Lesley, a daughter of the late Noel Lesley. He had received infusion care at Providence Medford Medical Center. Offering comments of support were Sue Kohler, M.D., medical director of oncology services and palliative care, and Ken Haugen, M.D., medical director of radiation oncology services.
Mary Lesley, Noel's wife, is battling cancer, so her dear friend Barbara Johnson has been blogging about her care journey. Barbara included details about the April 9 event in the blog.
Patients receiving care in the Noel Lesley Infusion Room have expressed appreciation for the light, open setting that provides both privacy and a view of an outside garden.
