Swindells Resource Center is the only center of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. Since it was established in 2002, it has grown from a simple lending library in Portland to a statewide network, offering library services, educational events, support groups and parenting tools throughout Oregon and southwest Washington.

Who we serve
Swindells Resource Center supports parents and caregivers of children who have special needs, developmental delays or disabilities. We provide resources, information and education to communities throughout Oregon and southwest Washington. Our vast lending library, educational events, support groups and referral guidance services connect families, caregivers and others to information and training targeted toward their specific needs. In 2012, we connected with those we serve more than 18,000 times – through classes, support groups and many other services.

Why it’s needed
In a time when there is an abundance of information, families and caregivers need a trusted resource they can turn to in their time of needs. Swindells Resource Center is that trusted resource. We have a wide range of resources to help children regardless of their diagnoses, age, language or family income. All services are offered at little or no cost.
