PHSOR Professional Staff Bylaws, Policies and Procedures
Medical Staff Services provides support to Providence professional staff leadership and the various committees and functions of the organized professional staff, which consists of almost 4,000 medical physicians, osteopathic physicians, licensed and maxillofacial surgeons, dentists, podiatrists, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists and clinical psychologists in the Oregon region.
Additionally, Medical Staff Services provides support to over 300 non-professional staff member allied health professionals which include physician assistants, registered nurse first assists, dental assistants and many more.
Membership qualifications are based on the Providence Health & Services Core Values of Compassion, Excellence, Justice, Respect and Stewardship, as well as the ACGME Core Competencies which include patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism and system-based practice.

Details of qualifications, responsibilities and prerogatives for membership are set forth in the Professional Staff Bylaws and Policies. All individuals exercising privileges shall meet the qualifications, standards, requirements and responsibilities set forth in these and other policies and rules governing the hospital.
