Outpatient neurological therapy
Also known as:
Neurological physical therapy, Neurological conditions therapy
Outpatient neurological therapy is for patients of stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputation, balance and vestibular disorders and other neurological disorders. Evaluation and treatment includes functional mobility, strength and range-of-motion, activities of daily living, balance and adaptive equipment needs and usage.
Following diagnosis of a neurological condition that is affecting functional skills in daily life, a patient may be referred to one or multiple services offered by Providence Rehabilitation Services. Physical therapists can provide evaluation and treatment for loss of strength, mobility and balance. Occupational therapists will work to restore independence with everyday living activities such as dressing, bathing and other self care activities. Speech-language pathologists can offer services for difficulties with speech, swallowing or cognitive problems such as memory.
Working as a team, along with a physician, these professionals provide comprehensive rehabilitation services for those with neurological conditions.
