PSVMC devotes unit to neurocritical care

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center has opened a 12-bed neurocritical care unit to treat critically ill patients with neurologic conditions.
Part of Providence Neurocritical Care Services, the NCCU is staffed by board-certified neurointensivists and providers specially trained in neurological and neurocritical care. These include neurologists, neurosurgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and critical care nurses experienced in neurological disorders. (See partial provider list.)
NCCU specialists treat:
- Tumors of the brain and spinal cord
- Large strokes
- Brain hemorrhage
- Other neurological diseases requiring urgent and intensive care
Providence Neurocritical Care Services works collaboratively with Providence Stroke Center, neurointerventional radiology, epileptology and other specialties.
