Hip replacement surgery

Also known as: Hip replacement, anterior approach, Total hip replacement surgery
Total joint replacement involves surgery to replace the ends of both bones in a damaged joint to create new joint surfaces.

Total hip replacement surgery replaces the upper end of the thigh bone (femur) with a metal ball and resurfaces the hip socket in the pelvic bone with a metal shell and plastic liner.

Providence Orthopedic Institute offers professional treatment for adults and children in the following areas: joint reconstruction, revisions, foot and ankle injuries, hand and upper extremity surgery, fracture care, trauma and sports injuries.  We use a variety of assessment and treatment tools to establish an accurate diagnosis quickly and develop a care plan that is tailored to the needs of each patient.
