Gynecologic surgery

Also known as: Surgery, gynecologic, Gynecologic cancer surgery
Surgery is used to treat many gynecologic cancers including uterine, ovarian and cervical cancers. Surgeries for gynecologic cancers include hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of the fallopian tubes and ovaries), and lymphadenectomy (removal of the pelvic lymph nodes).

Providence Gynecologic Oncology Program focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and management of female reproductive cancers.
