Faith in Action

Also known as: Volunteers in Action, Providence Community Caregivers, Volunteering
Faith in Action Providence Community Caregivers assists community members who wish to remain independent in their homes but need assistance with daily activities. Faith in Action is an interfaith volunteer caregiving initiative that brings together volunteers from many faiths to work together to care for their neighbors who have long-term health needs.

Volunteers come from churches, other houses of worship, as well as the community at large. They help those in need by providing non-medical assistance with tasks such as:
  • Picking up groceries or running errands
  • Providing a ride to the doctor
  • Friendly visiting (talking and listening)
  • Reading or helping to pay bills
Fostering Independence
Volunteers help the elderly and those with health care challenges by assisting with shopping, chores, visits and transportation. All volunteers undergo background checks, so family members can rest assured they are safe to serve our vulnerable populations.

Faith in Action began serving the community as collaboration between local hospitals, congregations, community groups and government agencies.
