Extended EEG monitoring

Also known as: Extended electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring
A diagnostic test called an electroencephalogram, or EEG, can help determine if a patient is having seizures. An EEG is a test that records brainwaves, and can show where in the brain a seizure may be coming from. Extended EEG monitoring is a routine EEG that runs longer than the standard 30 minute recording time. Extended EEG monitoring can be done as an inpatient or outpatient procedure.
