Carotid artery ultrasound
This test uses ultrasound to evaluate the arteries on each side of your neck that lead to your head. During this test you will lie flat on your back while a small sound probe, with clear gel on the surface, will be rubbed along each side of your neck from your collarbone to just below your ear. This test is painless and takes about 30 minutes. No preparation is necessary.
