Cancer support groups

Also known as: Support groups, cancer

Cancer support groups provide education and support for cancer patients and their loved ones. Support groups are led by our professional staff and are offered as a free service to any person with cancer in our community.

Some cancer support groups are disease-specific and are made up of people who have the same or a similar disease. Other groups are more general, and people with a variety of cancers meet together for support and information.

When patients receive a diagnosis of cancer, they can experience a broad array of emotions, including disbelief, confusion, numbness, shock and denial.  Providence Cancer Support Services provides emotional and practical support to cancer patients and their families when they need it most. Providence Cancer Support Services are provided at no charge to Providence cancer patients and their families.
