Bunionectomy

Also known as: Bunion surgery
Bunion surgery generally involves an incision in the top or side of the big toe joint and the removal or realignment of soft tissue and bone to relieve pain and restore normal alignment to the joint. If the joint is severely deformed, it may be stabilized with tiny wires, stitches, screws or plates. Providence Orthopedic Institute offers professional treatment for adults and children in the following areas: joint reconstruction and revisions, foot and ankle injuries, hand and upper extremity surgery, fracture care, trauma care and sports injuries.  We use a variety of assessment and treatment tools to establish an accurate diagnosis quickly and develop a care plan that is tailored to the needs of each patient.
