November 13, 2015

Providence Health & Services is pleased to announce the selection of Laurie C. Kelley as president and chief development officer for the Providence Foundations throughout the Oregon Region. Kelley will lead all philanthropic programs conducted by Providence in Oregon, including leadership of ten Providence Foundations throughout the state.

For the past nine years, Kelley has served at the University of Portland, first as chief marketing officer and later as vice president for university relations. In that role, she oversaw Alumni Relations, Development, Marketing & Communications and University Events. During her time there, Kelley and her team successfully developed and implemented a new comprehensive brand strategy for the university and all marketing and branding efforts for the school’s $182 million RISE Campaign. Most recently, Kelley has overseen the closing phase of that campaign, including final funding for the $23 million Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center, the $2.5 million Pilot House remodeling project, the Joe Etzel Field lighting project, the master’s degree program in biomedical engineering, and a $15 million lead gift for a new $30 million academic center.

“Laurie joins us with a tremendous track record of brand building and philanthropic successes,” said Dave Underriner, chief executive for Providence in Oregon. “We’re excited to have her join us as we look to enhance and expand the excellent work of our foundation team here at Providence.

Prior to coming to the University of Portland, Kelley held leadership roles at Oregon Public Broadcasting and Legacy Health System.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity, and I look forward to working with the team to further the Mission of Providence,” said Kelley.

Kelley has an undergraduate degree in accounting and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. She will begin her work at Providence in January.
