Ambulatory Surgery Center opens on Providence Portland Medical Center campus

Plaza Ambulatory Surgery Center, LLC, opened for business Thursday, May 30, on the Providence Portland Medical Center campus. The center is a partnership involving Portland physicians, Providence Health & Services – Oregon Region and Regent Surgical Health, Inc., which will serve as the management company.
While the center is a joint venture and a separate legal entity from Providence Portland Medical Center, it is located on the Providence Portland campus in the Providence Professional Plaza.
“This is an exciting opportunity for us,” said Miriam Odermann, chief executive, ambulatory services. “The center will open with surgeons specializing in podiatry, pain management, ear, nose and throat, orthopedic/hand, urology, neurology and general surgery.” The center and surgeons are expected to serve thousands of patients each year.
“By partnering in this ambulatory surgery center, we are responding to the needs of cost-conscious health care consumers,” said Paul Gaden, Providence Portland Medical Center chief executive. “This center will provide patients with affordable, quality outpatient surgery in a convenient location.”
This center is Providence’s fourth ambulatory surgery center joint venture in the Portland Service Area. The others include Surgery Center at Tanasbourne, LLC, Center for Specialty Surgery, LLC, and Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center, LLC.
