April 29, 2014
Providence hospitals are tops in Oregon in the latest Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Score rankings. Four Providence hospitals received “A” grades – more than any other health system in the state.
The Leapfrog score rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries and infections. The “A” grades went to Providence Milwaukie Hospital, Providence Newberg Medical Center, Providence Portland Medical Center and Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The score is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety and is administered by The Leapfrog Group, an independent industry watchdog.
Leapfrog reviewed more than 2,500 hospitals nationwide for its spring 2014 update. For more information, visit www.hospitalsafetyscore.org/.
