Nominations open for 2014 Hearts of Gold Awards

April 28, 2014

“Hearts of Gold” honorees - they are people who make a difference. They are people who enrich our community through their good works, selfless dedication and commitment to health. The Foundation at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital is seeking your help in shining the spotlight on two such individuals from the Columbia Gorge in 2014.

Each year, the Foundation honors one health care professional and one community member whose charitable works and giving hearts make our community a better place for all. Nominations are invited from anyone in the Gorge community who wishes to forward a candidate for consideration for this special recognition. This year’s recipients will be honored at the Providence Hearts of Gold Soirée on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at the Columbia Gorge Hotel with festivities to be held “under the stars.”

The Hearts of Gold Soirée is open to the public and has a long-standing tradition of offering attendees an elegant evening that in turn, brings needed funding to many local projects which support health and wellness programs benefiting local patients and families in need. All proceeds will benefit the Medication Assistance Program at Providence Hood River, ensuring cancer patients and others with high medication bills have help in locating no-cost or low cost suppliers, scholarships, manufacturer discounts and other funding to make life-saving medication affordable.

In addition to honoring the selected Hearts of Gold award winners, guests at the soirée will be treated to a cocktail reception, a generous hors de oeuvres buffet, lively music and breathtaking views from the hotel’s grounds and ballroom. A limited number of tickets are available and may be purchased by calling 541-387-6950. Corporate and individual sponsorships of the event are also being sought.
