Hope is something every cancer patient needs. Now a treatment at Providence Cancer Center is giving new hope to its patients. Providence Cancer Center is the only cancer center in the Pacific Northwest offering IORT (intraoperative radiation therapy) which allows doctors to deliver radiation treatment during surgery – a technological innovation that’s giving some cancer patients additional years of survival, rather than mere months. Christina Cha, M.D., radiation oncologist at Providence Cancer Center, explains the procedure.
