January 31, 2014
At Providence Child Center, the goal has always been to nurture every child and help all children reach their fullest potential. That same vision is shared by Gerry Frank, whose compassion for the most vulnerable and understanding of what is needed to help children and their families through difficult times has earned him the 2014 Providence Child Center Heart of Gold award.
Gerry Frank is also the namesake of the Gerry Frank Center for Children’s Care at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, which is part of what makes Providence the largest and most comprehensive provider of development services in the area.
For his dedication to helping others and leadership, the Heart of Gold Award will be presented to Gerry Frank at Providence Child Center’s 2014 Heart of Gold ceremony and dinner, held on Thursday, Feb. 13, at Pure Space, 1315 N.W. Overton St., Portland.
Gerry Frank is notable across Oregon for his work with Mark O. Hatfield, former U.S. senator and Oregon governor, and his service on numerous leadership boards. He has served as president of the Salem Chamber of Commerce, is a life trustee of the Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation and is a member and past president of the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, among many others.
Proceeds from the 2014 Heart of Gold event will support the Children’s Health Initiative and help Providence caregivers serve one of our most vulnerable populations. For more information about the Providence Child Center Foundation and the Heart of Gold event, call 503-215-2406.
