Providence Benedictine Nursing Center Tree of Remembrance

December 02, 2013

The theme for this year’s Tree of Remembrance was “peace” and the event was very peaceful. This was due to the hard work of many Providence Benedictine Nursing Center employees and the Foundation board members – thank you.

As with any event, many people put in a lot of work and it paid off. The food was fabulous, the décor was beautiful, music terrific and everything went smoothly as we transitioned from chapel, to the tree out front, and to the dining room.

Despite the bitter cold, nearly 30 people went outside forth tree lighting. The children were charming helpers. There were a number of positive comments such as, “my grandmother is at PBNC so this was my family’s Christmas celebration” and, “ I have been overwhelmed by the commercialization of Christmas, and the Tree of Remembrance was the perfect antidote.”

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success and to our donors. It raised a record $19,025 for PBNC.
