Theron Park named to new leadership post
July 09, 2013
Chief executive, Oregion Region
I’m pleased to tell you that we have a new chief executive, delivery system, for Providence in Oregon. Theron Park has accepted this position, effective June 24.
As a Providence leader for nearly six years, Theron is an engaging leader with clear and strategic thinking. He has been chief executive at Providence Portland and Providence Milwaukie, led the Portland Service Area Advisory Council, and supported ministry leaders and business transitions. Prior to his work at Providence ministries, Theron worked in executive roles for several hospitals in Texas and Montana.
As we begin to recruit for Theron’s replacement, we’ve asked Larry Bowe to step in as the interim lead at PPMC, effective later this summer. Larry is transitioning from his role as interim chief executive in Southern Oregon. Cindy Mayo, former chief executive of Providence Centralia Hospital, is assuming the executive role for that service area.
Many of you know Larry from his previous roles as our executive in Hood River and then in Newberg. He then went to Providence in Los Angeles, and is now back supporting our ministry in Oregon. We appreciate his leadership and flexibility.
One other note: I recognize that we are sending out a lot of leadership announcements, and these will continue as we work to refine our regional structure. I am grateful for all of you for your service to our ministry during this time of development and adaptation to meet the needs of our patients.
I know you join me in congratulating Theron and welcoming Larry.
