Wayson moves to system level
June 20, 2013
Kristy Wayson, director of Providence Heart and Vascular Institute, has accepted the position of senior director, clinical portfolio, cardiovascular, in Clinical Program Services. She joins Calvin Harrison, formerly with Providence Cancer Center, and Bonnie Smith, who led Providence Brain and Spine Institute, in bringing executive guidance to systemwide clinical performance groups.
Working with physician and operations partners throughout the organization, Wayson will develop cost, utilization, and technology and research objectives for the cardiovascular clinical performance group. Serving as the primary point of contact for the cardiovascular clinical performance group, she also will collaborate with her fellow portfolio directors in Clinical Program Services.
Her work will be based out of the system office, but she will continue to live in Oregon.
"Kristy has a remarkable depth of experience as a leader in cardiovascular operations, program development and direct clinical care," says Lisa Vance, vice president of Clinical Program Services.
Wayson has spent more than 30 years with Providence, from working at the bedside as a RN to directing cardiovascular programs. Since 2012, she has served as the senior clinical program executive for Providence in Oregon.
Jennifer Zelensky, PHVI's senior director, will serve as the institute's interim program executive.
