Chief executive announced for Southern Oregon Service Area

June 24, 2013
Announcement from Dave Underriner
Chief Executive – Oregon Region
I’m pleased to announce that Cindy Mayo will be the new chief executive in our Southern Oregon Service Area. Cindy comes to us from Providence Centralia Hospital, where she has been chief executive since 2007. She has led the team at that 128-bed facility to improvements in quality, financial performance and employee engagement. She has a track record of success with employed and private practice physicians, community members and was at Providence Centralia for the implementation of Epic.

Prior to coming to Providence, Cindy served at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento as vice president and chief nursing officer and as a member of the administrative teams at ScrippsHealth hospitals in Chula Vista and San Diego. She has a bachelor of science degree from California State – Dominguez Hills and a master’s in nursing/nursing systems administration from San Diego State.

I also want to thank Larry Bowe for his service as the interim chief executive in southern Oregon. As we announced earlier, Larry will be coming to Portland to become the interim chief executive at Providence Portland Medical Center later this summer. Our goal is to have a smooth transition among these ministries.
Cindy will start in southern Oregon on Aug. 5. I know you join me in congratulating her and in welcoming her to Oregon.
