Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Honored As Consumer Choice Winner

October 22, 2012
PORTLAND, Ore. — Health care consumers in Portland consider the care they receive at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center the best of the best. For the 11th year, Providence St. Vincent is being recognized as a National Research Corporation Consumer Choice Award winner among hospitals in the Portland area.

Consumer Choice Award winners are selected following surveys in the community in which patients rate their most preferred place to receive care. Results are based on the hospital that possesses the best ratings for overall quality, overall image/reputation, doctors and nurses.

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Janice Burger, chief executive of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. “All across the Providence ministries, it is our goal to offer every patient the best health care possible. Every day, we are asking our patients what we are doing right, and what we can do better. We are committed to being one of the top health care providers in the country.”

Providence St. Vincent is among 297 facilities in the nation chosen as Consumer Choice Award winners. The announcement will appear in Modern Healthcare magazine. This year, Providence St. Vincent was selected for the Portland honor, along with Oregon Health & Science University.
