The Oregon Business Association honored Greg Van Pelt, chief executive for Providence in Oregon, at its 2012 “Statesman of the Year” awards. Greg was one of 11 leaders recognized for improving Oregon’s health care system and inspiring others to do the same in their communities. The awards were presented Oct. 12 during the OBA’s annual Statesman Dinner at the Oregon Convention Center.
“We are pleased to honor these unsung heroes,” said Ryan Deckert, OBA’s president. “Each of these individuals worked tirelessly and collaboratively over the past year and a half to make this work possible ... these Oregonians have said ‘yes’ to the possibility of a new model for their work.”
Other honorees included physicians, health system executives, state legislators and other government leaders.
