Providence Bedpan Open is a Swinging Success

The 21st annual Providence Bedpan Open golf tournament at Indian Creek Golf Course raised more than $17,000 for the Jane Mellor Youth Dental Voucher Program.
The event, held June 30, was a great day on the green. U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, a Hood River native welcomed more than 20 four-person golf teams that came out to support the effort to raise money to provide dental treatment for uninsured children in our community.
Team winners at the tournament were “Money Ball” for lowest net score and “Indian Creek” for lowest gross score. The Money Ball team included William Olson, Eric Olson, Penny Williams and Karl Koenig. The Indian Creek team included Tyson Jacobs, Bob Hanel, Michelle Jacobs and Tyler Freas. Both teams will have their names on the prestigious bedpan trophy.
Individual winners were: Longest Drive (Men), Eric von Lubken; Longest Drive (Women), Penny Wilson; Closest to the cup (Men), Eric von Lubken; Closest to the cup (Women), Cynthia Brockelsby.
After the golf, supporters and participants adjourned for the 19th Hole “Par-Tee” dinner and auction.
