June 19, 2012
SEASIDE, Ore. – Sydney A. Van Dusen has been named director for Providence Seaside Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm for Providence North Coast Service Area.
"The Providence Mission and core values are at the heart of what I believe in," says Van Dusen, who begins her new position June 19. “I am very happy to be part of the Providence community on the North Coast and to get started on growing philanthropy for Providence Seaside Hospital, including the Festival of Trees in December.”
Van Dusen has been the general manager at Van Dusen Beverages in Astoria since 2006. While there, she was responsible for overall operations of sales and delivery, management of business retail and food service accounts, and community business relations. She achieved several merit awards for her work with PepsiCo in California and Oregon. Van Dusen has been very active in community service, serving as a founding member of the Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific; a member of the Astoria Rotary Club; and a participant in the Clatsop County chapter of SMART (Start Making a Reader Today).
"Sydney’s experience as a leader, coupled with her enthusiasm, dedication and energy, are great additions to Providence Seaside," said Krista Farnham, chief executive for Providence North Coast Service Area. "I'm excited for what's sure to be an extraordinary time of continued growth and support for Providence Seaside Hospital and medical clinics on the North Coast."
She replaces Gary Terranova, who left Providence after two years as director of the hospital's foundation.
Van Dusen grew up in Astoria where her father’s family has lived since 1847. She earned a bachelor's degree in business marketing and management from the University of Portland. She and her husband, Greg Peterson, and 7-year-old daughter, Caleigh, live in Astoria. When not attending Caleigh’s school activities, Van Dusen enjoys gardening, running and playing golf.
