Immune therapy may yield long-lasting treatment for many cancers

The results of a new class of immune enhancing drugs were recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine and were presented at the meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in Chicago. These new drugs appear to suppress certain cancers for longer periods of time for some patients in advanced stages. Providence Cancer Center is involved in the clinical trials for one of the experimental agents.
