Quality Imaging at Providence: Diagnostic Imaging Receives Accreditation

February 10, 2012

The program evaluates the qualifications of personnel, equipment performance, quality of clinical images, appropriateness of scan parameters/technique, scan performance characteristics, and specific to CT, the radiation dose estimates assessed with a dedicated CT phantom. Sites must demonstrate that they have a peer-review program in place, which may be either home-grown or provided by a third party such as the ACR RADPEER program.

All Providence facilities have or are working to attain these accreditations. We hold accreditations in mammography and CT with ultrasound, breast ultrasound, MRI, stereotactic breast biopsy and in the process of Nuclear Medicine accreditation.

A special thanks goes out to Dr. Finstad, Sarah Chappel and Lynn Dutra for making this possible.
