Providence scores big in "most admired"
December 08, 2011
Providence was a big winner at the 2011 Portland Business Journal “Most Admired Companies” honors, taking three awards in the health care category – more than any other entity. Providence Health Plans placed second, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center was tied for third and Providence Portland Medical Center tied for seventh.
In addition, Providence Health Plans placed in the top 10 “Most Admired Across All Industries” category, recognized alongside such companies as Nike, Intel and Columbia Sportswear. “This is a wonderful acknowledgement of our team,” said Jack Friedman, chief executive officer, Providence Health Plans. “We believe it shows that people who care for each other and for those they serve create an environment in which we can achieve great things.”
The awards are based on the results of a survey of 1,800 chief executives and top-level managers in Oregon.
