Hospital names new chief nurse executive

Pat Markesino, RN, has accepted the position of chief nurse executive for Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center. Pat has been serving as interim CNE since August. Pat joined the hospital in 2009 as director of Quality Management, Utilization Management, and Medical Staff, and expanded her leadership in these roles to Providence Milwaukie Hospital about a year ago. She has demonstrated her commitment to our Mission and has a passion for patient care and bedside nursing.
Pat’s journey with Providence began in 1992 when she served for five years as director and administrator on the skilled nursing unit at Providence Portland Medical Center. She continued developing her skills in leading nursing teams as the assistant administrator of clinical services and chief nursing officer at Kaiser Permanente. She has great expertise in building teams and leading through times of change, having participated in an Epic conversion with another large health system. In addition to a Bachelor of Science in nursing, Pat holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Portland.
