October 18, 2011

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center earns top honors for quality and consumer feedback. The American College of Surgeons presented their award for exemplary outcomes in two or more areas, and the facility earned the Consumer Choice Award for the Portland market for the 10th annual year.

“We are pleased with both of these honors,” says Janice Burger, chief executive, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. “We are committed to providing our community with the very best care in a healing and compassionate environment. We are blessed to have exceptional physicians and staff who are dedicated to warmly serving the needs of every patient and their family.”

The American College of Surgeons awarded the National Continuous Quality Improvement Award to Providence St. Vincent – one of only 26 hospitals in the nation to receive the honor. The award recognizes excellent outcomes in the following areas: deep vein thrombosis, cardiac, respiratory illnesses (pneumonia), surgical site infections and urinary tract infections.

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center also earned the Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corporation for the 10th year. This honor recognizes the hospital for having the best overall quality, the best overall image and reputation, the best doctors, and the best nurses in the Portland market.
