Foundation funds two new projects
August 12, 2011
A new inpatient palliative care program and new obstetric ultrasound technology received funding approval from the Providence Willamette Falls Medical Foundation Board of Trustees at its July meeting.
Palliative care has long been a part of the hospice program, and patients and families have asked for similar services for hospital inpatients. Palliative care specializes in the relief of pain, symptoms and stress of serious illness. The funding will provide for staffing as well as the solace of music-thanatology services.
At Providence Willamette Falls Birthplace, funding will provide new ultrasound technology designed to produce clearer images of infants during the birthing process. The technology will allow staff to better assist and treat patients under their care.
