Timbers Fans Wear Pink in Hopes of Setting Breast Cancer Awareness World Record
July 21, 2011
Providence employees will hand out pink surgical gloves to all fans as they enter the stadium for the July 26 exhibition game. At halftime, every Timbers fan can join in the dance as original Pink Glove dancers lead the stadium in the Pink Glove Dance You Tube phenomenon that now has more than 13 million views. The event will be videotaped and photographed for submission as a world record.
Providence is a proud founding partner with the Portland Timbers and sees this opportunity to spread awareness about breast cancer as an example of how both organizations believe in, and support, the health and wellness of the community.
Medline Industries joined with Providence on this project by donating the pink gloves for the event.
Tickets are still available for the game and are available for purchase at the JELD-WEN box office or Ticketmaster.
