Forty Years of Health Careers: Hundreds of Former Students Reunite With Providence Job Shadow Hosts

The 40th anniversary celebration of Beaverton School District's Health Careers Program, a collaboration with Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

DETAILS:    
Hundreds of former students whose first experience in the health care profession was at Providence St. Vincent will be reunited with their host staff members. This celebration will showcase the Health Careers Program educational partnership through stories and interviews with Beaverton High School alumni who have gone on to successful careers in the health care field. Up to 300 are expected to attend.

More than 4,000 BHS students have participated in the program since it began in 1971. Students learn CPR, basic clinical skills and medical terminology, and receive personal insight from medical professionals as they explore a variety of health care fields. Many students have joined the Providence system over the years, including several currently working at Providence St. Vincent.
