Early adolescence, a time of ups and downs for all of us

Howard Hiton MS, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing individual, family, and chemical dependency counseling services since 1987 in settings such as residential treatment for adjudicated boys, middle schools and high schools. He was the recipient of the Oregon Pediatric Society’s Award for Service to Children and the Oregon Peacemaker Award of Excellence for his support of youth. Howard’s presentation style is consistently evaluated as being warm, engaging, and thought provoking. Mr. Hiton is the father of two teen aged boys.

At this free workshop, Howard will discuss real case examples, share his thoughts and provide information that includes:

  • Exploration of how adolescence may effect boys and girls differently, particularly for those experiencing developmental disability and behavioral health challenges
  • Consideration of the growth tasks for t’weens
  • Strategies for navigating the changes that come with adolescence
