Providing Cognitive Support for FASD & other Neurobehavioral Conditions
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, FASD, and other neurobehavioral, NB, disorders present a unique challenge to families, schools, caregivers, and social workers.
Presenter Nate Sheets is a behavior consultant in the Willamette Valley and owner of Oregon Behavior Consultation. He specializes in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, but works with a wide variety of clients who experience disabilities and mental health challenges.
This free training will discuss why living with a child or adult with FASD/NB can be so difficult for families, siblings, and even professional caregivers, and will provide suggestions to stay calm and to manage stress. Nate will:
- Address major behaviors and symptoms including memory, lying, stealing, and language comprehension
- Help participants understand what is going on in the FASD/Neurobehavioral brain
- Learn how this affects the individual experiencing it
- Give practical suggestions and tools to help address these behaviors
