Course description

Does hand therapy work? Are you using the most evidence-based strategies in your practice? And are you actually making a functional difference in the lives of your patients? As we navigate the continually challenging world everyday practice and reimbursement, these questions are often left to researchers or saved for later. But wait! Using evidence to inform your practice and assess outcomes is easier than you think. The purpose of this course is to empower clinicians with the confidence to use evidence and measure outcomes effectively for the continued promotion of our profession.

Course objectives

Upon completion of the course participants will be able to:

  • Identify the primary criteria with which to quickly assess the strength of a research article.
  • Participate in critical appraisal of multiple articles to create evidence-based treatment recommendations.
  • Explore numerous self-report outcome measures for use in clinical practice.
